SEMS Platform

The SIP Express Media Server platform integrates high performance media server (MRF) functionality and a flexible application server, allowing timely and fine grained control of voice and signaling services, without adding unnecessary complexity and points of failure. The SEMS platform provides for a highly customizable one-stop solution, reducing time to market and securing future revenues by scaling seamlessly as your business grows.

The session model also offers a manifold set of Back-to-Back User Agent (B2BUA) capabilities, thus allowing for session management and control applications at the heart of your application as well as at the borders of your network, while hiding your network and application topology from the outside.

The light weighted and highly portable architecture (small memory footprint, low external software dependencies) enable convenient integration into low-power and embedded devices, thus being perfectly fitted for OEM products needing VoIP capabilities.

The SEMS platform is offered for OEM vendors as the basis for implementing application servers and for customized application developments.  VoIP service providers can use SEMS to launch VoIP application and services such as conferencing, IVR or voicemail.

The SEMS platform has started as an open source project under GPL license in 2004 and is maintained by FRAFOS. SEMS is used by various open source developers as the basis for service integration and development.
